Aurora Exhibited the First Breast Mobile MRI for Breast Cancer Screening in China at the 8th U.S.-China Health Forum

This October, the 8th U.S.-China Health Forum themed Healthy China,Healthy Sichuan was held in Jinjiang hotel, Chengdu, Sichuan, China, hosted by Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College.

It gathered more than 800 global healthcare experts, including world-renowned scholars, government officials, and clinicians and executives of top tier  hospitals from China and US. The guests including but not limited to:

WANG Yihong, deputy governor of Sichuan Province; ZENG Yixin, Minister of Health of the People's Republic of China; Richard Platt, Director of Harvard Department of Population Medicine. And the forum was co-chaired by SHEN Ji, Director-General, Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province; ZHENG Zhongwei, Vice President, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) & Peking Union Medical College (PUMC), and William Haseltine, Chairman, Board of U.S.-China Health Summit; Founder, Access Health International.

Since its inauguration in 2011 at Harvard University, the U.S.-China Health Forum (‘the Forum’) has been dedicated to advancing global health by promoting exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences among current and future health sector leaders from China, the U.S. and other countries. The Forum has been held alternately in the U.S. and China which gathers together hundreds of leaders from academia, governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as industry to discuss important challenges and opportunities in health sector reforms and development.

At the session of Life Course Health for Women and Children, the topic of Breast Cancer and Cervix Cancer Screening was intensely addressed by several advisors of Aurora, including Preventing & Screening for Breast Cancer – What’s Special for Chinese Women by Dr. Jing Ma, Associate professor at Department of Population medicine at Harvard Medical School; the changing models for Breast Cancer Diagnosis by Dr. Rebecca Stough, the medical director from Mercy Breast Center, to illustrate a case study of Mercy Breast Center from Oklahoma City; the breast health management experience from Taiwan Taitung St. Mary’s Hospital by Liang Chuan Chen, president of Taitung St. Mary’s Hospital.

CEO of Aurora Healthcare, Ms. Olivia Ho. Cheng, attended the forum to introduce Aurora Mobile System, the only official approved exhibitor at this forum. The device was exhibited in front of the main conference hall, Jinjiang Hotel, and attracted great attention from both the forum attendees and the local community. Aurora Healthcare, with its commitment and mission dedicated to generations of women’s breast care, have been committed to fulfill the mission by expansion the application of its high precision breast MRI system from diagnosis to screening , to benefit women by detecting cancer at the curable early stages.

This state of the art mobile MRI system is the collaboration of the breast-dedicated MR imaging technology from Aurora and the world-class trailer manufactured by Lamboo in the Netherlands, with the installation of Alltech Medical’s magnet. While visiting the mobile unit during the Forum, SHEN Ji, Director-General of Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province was pleased to know that the bMRI system integration and assembling have been conducted locally in order to meet the potential large demand in China.

It is the goal and mission of the Aurora to use its dedicated breast MRI system as a center piece to encourage building of patient centered comprehensive breast centers where disease prevention education, effective screening, accurate diagnosis, precision medicine for treatment and health management could be performed in one-stop center at the Aurora Breast Centers.    In addition, Aurora Mobile presents  an innovation by increase high quality medical availability with AI technology to reduce the inequality of high quality healthcare delivery.
